Contract with the Border Guard

In the second half of October 2023, PCO S.A. signed three contracts with the Polish Border Guard. The contract concluded on 16 October concerns the delivery of 41 MU-3AM night vision monoculars, and on 23 October, a contract was signed for 40 MT-1 thermal monoculars. Both types of monoculars are to be delivered to Border Guard units by 27 December this year. On 26 October, PCO S.A. signed an additional agreement with the Border Guard for the delivery of 35 NPL-1T thermal binoculars. The MU-3AM is currently one of the lightest night vision devices in the world, weighing just 265 g (without batteries). Thanks to the use of modern aspherical optics, the device is also significantly shorter than previous models – with a total length of only 97 mm. The monocular can be used together with the ClipIR thermal clip-on sight, enabling observation in fusion mode, which combines night vision and thermal images. It is also possible to mount two MU-3AM units on a bridge to form a MU-3ADM binocular night vision goggle system for armoured vehicle drivers. The monocular can be mounted on any type of helmet and can also be used in combination with a weapon-mounted reflex sight, creating a night vision aiming system. The MT-1 thermal monocular is a new addition to PCO S.A.’s range of products for individual users. It is also one of the smallest and lightest devices of its kind in the world. Despite its compact size, it offers excellent image quality. The core of the device is a 12 µm uncooled microbolometer sensor with a resolution of 640x480, working together with electronic components responsible for image processing and display on an OLED screen. This innovative technical solution allows the MT-1 to be used either as a handheld observation device or as a module attached to MZN-1 goggles. It is also compatible with all accessories designed for the MU-3M monocular, greatly extending its capabilities. The thermal monoculars enable officers to conduct observation both day and night, regardless of weather conditions. The NPL-1T thermal binoculars enable observation during both day and night, as well as in limited visibility conditions. Their design solutions and advanced thermal image processing technologies provide exceptional image quality while maintaining a lightweight build and reduced power consumption. The thermal image is displayed on two OLED screens or can be transmitted via a digital video output to an external head-mounted display or monitor. The device allows still images to be saved to internal memory, with the option to transfer them to a computer. The primary power source consists of four AA batteries, but the binoculars can also be powered by an external source within a wide voltage range. The NPL-1T is designed to integrate with a military GPS receiver, enabling the display of geographic coordinates and time on screen. The binoculars are equipped with an additional optical attachment that doubles the magnification. Moreover, the NPL-1T enables approximate rangefinding of targets with a height of 1.75 metres.
