Meeting of Representatives of the European Union Military Committee
On 12 March, representatives of the European Union Military Committee visited the 1st Warsaw Armoured Brigade. In addition to receiving information about the Brigade itself and the ‘Eastern Shield’ initiative, officers from 27 EU Member States were introduced to a display of military equipment prepared by the Polish Armed Forces and companies from the Polish defence industry, including PCO S.A.
The off-site informal meeting focused on the ‘Eastern Shield’ initiative, which forms part of the activities undertaken during Poland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025. This Presidency places a strong emphasis on issues of security and defence. As part of this strategic agenda, the ‘Eastern Shield’ initiative is being actively promoted. Its aim is to strengthen the defence capabilities of countries in the region and support the technical modernisation of the Polish Armed Forces.
