Students from Wrocław University of Science and Technology visit PCO S.A.
On 17 April 2023, PCO S.A. hosted a visit by students from the Optics programme at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, accompanied by academic staff from the university. Students enrolled in this programme may choose between two specialisations:
• Optical and Photonic Engineering
• Ophthalmic Optics
Following registration, the guests were briefed on basic safety procedures in accordance with PCO S.A. regulations. During the visit, the students were introduced to the company’s operations through an overview presentation and a multimedia briefing, which highlighted the technologies used in PCO S.A.’s products. They were then given a tour of the company’s key production departments, where they were familiarised with the main processes involved in the manufacture of optoelectronic devices. The tour included visits to the Optics Department, the Mechanical Department, and the Test Station. During the visit, students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed answers from specialists working in the company’s technology departments. The final stop on the production floor was the darkroom tunnel, used for testing night vision and thermal imaging equipment. The students also had a chance to examine PCO S.A. products up close during a dedicated presentation, which included, among others, the MU-3M night vision goggles and PCS-5 and SCT weapon sights. For the students and academic staff, the visit was a valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of PCO S.A.’s business profile and manufacturing processes, while for the company, it served as an opportunity to reach out to potential future engineering personnel.
