SOD-1 Omnidirectional Observation System
The Day/Night Omnidirectional Observation System is designed for wide-angle observation of the immediate surroundings of vehicles, enabling monitoring of the area and motion detection.
The Day/Night Omnidirectional Observation System is designed for wide-angle observation of the immediate surroundings of vehicles, enabling monitoring of the area and motion detection. It functions effectively during the day, at night, and in conditions of limited visibility. The system features independent operation of thermal imaging and TV channels, or they can work together to observe the same area, with the option to superimpose thermal images onto television images in a selected pair of cameras.
This omnidirectional observation system equips the commander and crew of armoured vehicles with a comprehensive view of their surroundings in both TV and thermal imaging modes. Information from the SOD modules is displayed on a touchscreen monitor. Each TV and thermal imaging module contains 2 TV and 2 thermal imaging channels. The system offers different display modes: panoramic view (image from four modules),
modular view (selected one of four modules), or directional view (selected two modules from four: front, back, right, left).
