LASER WARNING SYSTEM SSP-1 OBRA-3

The SSP-1 OBRA-3 is a vehicle laser warning system designed to detect when vehicles or military objects are being targeted by pulsed laser rangefinders or laser illuminators. It is integrated with smoke grenade launchers to instantly deploy a smoke screen in the direction of the detected laser radiation.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:

1. Safety interlock: prevents smoke grenades from firing when the tank hatch is open.
2. Reflected signal identification: the ‘OBRA-3’ system recognises signals from its own laser rangefinder to avoid confusion.
3. Broad spectral detection: detects radiation within the 0.6 μm to 11 μm range.
