MODULAR NIGHT VISION GOGGLES
The Modular Night Vision Goggles are designed for individual soldiers and developed based on feedback from previous users of the PCO’s night vision devices. The device includes two night vision monoculars, a bridge to connect them into goggles, and a flip-up for mounting on a helmet.
The design prioritises ergonomics. Each monocular can be independently tilted without interfering with the helmet and can also be positioned on the helmet to minimise the soldier’s silhouette.
Additionally, a single monocular can be mounted on a weapon using a power supply mount and can work in conjunction with collimator sights.
Unlike the existing solutions, MZN-1:
- is very easy to configure with 18 mm or 16 mm image intensifiers or a thermal imaging detector in a mono- or binocular setup;
- is constructed with high-impact plastics, aluminium alloys, titanium;
- features integrated power supply and controls at the bridge rather than the monocular or goggles;
- offers a unique automatic monocular shut-off function;
- has an open architecture for future accessories and applications (e.g., data display, image fusion, etc.).
The advantage of the MZN is its light weight. The goggles weigh less than 600 g, with an additional weapon mount weighing 90 g.
