DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:
- The passive night vision device for drivers replaces the two observation instruments (day and night) previously used in the Self- Propelled Howitzer Krab, serving both functions without requiring modifications to the mounting socket.
- The periscope includes a builtin tilt mirror, allowing the field of view to be adjusted without changing the observer’s position.
- The eyepiece assembly is equipped with vision correction and adjustable eye spacing.
- A built-in optical range finding reticle provides a rough estimate of the distance to the target.
- The reticle’s illumination intensity can be adjusted via a knob.
PURPOSE OF THE POD-21:
The primary application of the POD-21 is on self-propelled howitzers KRAB, though it can also be adapted for use on tanks, transporters, and infantry fighting vehicles.
