On the final day of the XXX International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, the Defenders – awards for the best defence industry products – were presented. Among the companies awarded was PCO S.A., which received a statuette for the GOS-1 Optoelectronic Warhead.
The award was received on behalf of the company at a ceremony by the President of the Management Board of PCO S.A., Witold Słowik.
The main purpose of the GOS-1 Optoelectronic Warhead is to observe, detect and target piloted and unmanned aircraft, moving and stationary ground objects and to perform distance measurement. The warhead enables the target tracking function to be realised in cooperation with an external videotracker.
The GOS-1 Optoelectronic Warhead with field-of-view stabilisation is equipped with a set of the following sensors: a laser rangefinder with telescope and an integrated ZZK camera unit comprising a TV camera and a thermal imaging camera operating in the 3 µm ÷ 5 µm range.
The unit is designed for day and night operation and adverse weather conditions. The warhead functions are controlled from the multifunctional panels used in the master system. The GOS-1 Optoelectronic Warhead has two basic modes of operation: as a sight for an artillery set and as a sensor for an alerter.
