Organised by PCO S.A. on 17-18 November 2021, the Optoelectronics Conference for
the sixth time provided an opportunity for a broad discussion about the potential of photonics in Poland.

The attending experts, representatives of research and scientific institutes, universities, industry and potential customers of optoelectronic products debated about the challenges facing Polish photonics.

The annual event was organised in cooperation with the Polish Technological Platform on Photonics, the Military University of Technology and the Warsaw University of Technology.

The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Head of the National Security Bureau and the Minister of National Defence. The media patron of the event was the Defence24 portal. The conference was held under the motto “Photonics in the military and civilian technological revolution of the 21st  century”.

The conference included a panel discussion “Modern optoelectronic systems to protect homeland security”, where the directions of developmental work on military optoelectronic systems, the possibility of independent production of optoelectronic systems in Poland, as well as Polish optoelectronic systems currently used in the Polish Armed Forces were discussed, among other topics. In the discussion moderated by Jędrzej Graf, Editor-in-Chief of Defence24, the following persons took part: Brigadier General Sławomir Dudczak from the Armed Forces General Command, Piotr Dardziński – President of the Management Board of Łukasiewicz Research Network, Mateusz Roszkiewicz – Development Department Director from PGZ S.A. and Paweł Glica – President of the Management Board of PCO S.A.

On the first day of the Conference, in the evening, there was a dynamic show with the use of thermal and night-vision equipment performed by soldiers of the Territorial Defence Forces.

The conference was accompanied by a product exhibition.


PCO S.A. is a company with over 45 years of experience. It is the biggest Polish producer of optoelectronic devices with use of night vision, thermal imaging and laser technology.
